Please share a brief about you and your journey as a professional dancer and your life experience as a part of the same

I started learning Kathak at the age of 6. Having trained under guru -shishya Parampara from Padmashri Smt. Sunayana Hazarilal Ji. I carry the lineage of rare Janki Prasad Banaras Gharana. I am the founder of the Ved Institute of Performing Arts and Ved dance company. I have completed my Visharad and Master's degree in Fine Arts.


Dancing requires a lot of dedication, persistence, and patience; how do you manage to follow your hobby along with your daily routine?

My hobby is my profession and hence maintaining a routine is not at all difficult. It is my way of life.



If you had a chance to spend 1 hour with one professional dancer, who he/she will be?

Sadly the artist is no more alive but I have heard so much about his knowledge and great nature from my seniors and that is Guru Hazarilal Ji.



Why traditional dance forms like Kathak and Bharatanatyam are utmost importance for youth to learn in their initial years?

Classical dance forms are about 360° human progress. It covers the study of our existence, history, geography, science, maths, and virtues, the difference between the good and bad, moral and authentic way of living in a community, etc.



What are the easiest ways for youth to learn the basics of dancing from the comfort of their home i.e. online?

Nowadays due to the pandemic, the online medium has opened new avenues for learning.



What are your tips for women who want to balance and follow their passion and daily routine?

If it is their true passion, then they will definitely find time and help to follow their dreams.

Aditi Yadav: Padmashri Smt. Sunayana Hazarilal Ji, Late Pandit Birju Maharaj and Shovana Narayan.


Udit Shah: If you had to choose between dancing in front of 10,000 audiences or dancing with any Bollywood star - what would you choose?

Aditi Yadav: Dancing in front of an audience.


Udit Shah: Your favourite dance form?

Aditi Yadav: Kathak. I also love to watch Odissi dance as I find it extremely graceful.


Udit Shah: Your favorite dancer in your favorite dance form?

Aditi Yadav: I love to see Jhelum Tai Parajnape perform.


Udit Shah: Your favorite dance step?

Aditi Yadav: Chakkars.


Udit Shah: How a month without dancing would look like for you?

Aditi Yadav: Don't know and I don't wish to experience any month without dancing.
